Here are two tricks to make multitasking on OS X easier. 

If you have multiple programs open, you can easy switch between them by pressing and holding the command button and then hitting tab. This will show you what you have open and let you switch quickly between programs. 

Also if you hit your F3 key, Macs will display all of your open windows so you can quickly select each one without having to minimize or close each window!
